Real Partners of HBS-Annual Clambake Welcomes RC Partners

On Monday, September 6th, the HBS Partners’ Club welcomed new RC partners, students and their families at their annual kick-off event, a traditional New England style Clambake at Marina Bay in Quincy, Mass.

Over 300 partners, students and their families kicked-off their first-year at HBS with a traditional New England-style Clambake hosted by the HBS Partners’ Club. The complimentary feast featured New England clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, fresh whole lobster (lobster bib included), corn-on-the-cob, grilled chicken, and watermelon for dessert. The event was catered by Woodman’s and held at Marina Bay, a waterfront venue overlooking the city of Boston and located 25 minutes South in Quincy, Mass. Round-trip bus transportation was provided for partners and students from the HBS campus to Marina Bay for the 2 hour event.

RC partners and students from around the world came together for the annual Partners’ Club welcome event, co-sponsored by the Student Association as part of RC Orientation Week. The event was the first opportunity for all RC partners to meet other partners, students, and families in the Class of 2012.

In addition to RCs, over 40 EC partners, students and their families joined in the fun to meet and greet new partners, talk about life as an HBS partner, and expand their support network. The Partners’ Club steering committee, clad in crimson t-shirts boasting “Behind every good student is a great partner,” gave a formal welcome to attendees and answered questions about joining the club.

RC partners can look forward to other social, cultural, and philanthropic events hosted by the Partners’ Club throughout their first year at HBS including apple picking, sushi-making, Boston Brewers hockey game, Thanksgiving baskets for the State of Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, Chocolate Brunch at Langham Hotel, and more.

The Harvard Business School Partners’ Club was founded in 1984 to provide a unique and independent community for the significant others of Harvard Business School students. Any spouse, partner, or significant other of an HBS student is welcome to join the club. The Partners’ Club organizes social, cultural, and informational activities for its members and provides opportunities to be involved in activities at Harvard and in the greater Boston community.
