A new day dawns….
The alarm clock warns
Loud enough to wake the dead
Of the day’s joys (or pains?) ahead
Activities of the night ‘fore so shadowy
Through foggy mists all swirly
Hints of pleasures unspoken
And cocktails numerous taken
Brief stopover to Shad on the way
Tis necessary to jumpstart the day
Our true destination the learning team
And brilliant cutting-edge ideas to beam
Classes are a stone’s throw away
Where different opinions hold sway
The professor an astute conductor
Of raw talent fit for an encore
Tis fitting to pause the knowledge quest
Even gods must certain rest
Intellectual toils birth ideas to muse
But to Spangler to recharge spent juice
Back to Classes
Pray tell did I really ask for this
Enter Act Two with each adding his piece
We feel the joys once more of case studies
Tis over for the day it seems
Myriad of choices reign supreme
Shad to stretch brawns
Or Baker to exercise brains?
Nay, the best is Harvard Square
Of the night’s attractions tis good to be aware
So let’s travel the jolly nighttime route
Till it’s time again for scholars’ lights out!
Harvard Square….
Lights Out
