Strength lies in differences, not in similarities. And so it is at HBS. Last week we celebrated international diversity through a variety of events including films, a panel discussion on Global Disaster Relief, the Food and Drink Festival, World Party and an International TGIF with cultural performances. To see hundreds of students, representing almost 40 countries, energetically sharing their cultures with others, was to see HBS at its finest.
Where else would you observe Israelis helping Palestinians by manning their food table for a few minutes? Or eat a meal consisting of a Spanish omelet, Egyptian falafel, Argentine empanadas and Mexican tequila? Or watch a show including a Japanese skit, Italian singers and a Korean Drum Troupe? In our minds, very few places, which is testimony to the HBS community that cultural and ethnic diversity thrives.
We hope that the following articles will give you a better flavor of the various events hosted last week. On behalf of the International Committee, we would like to thank the students who put so much time and energy into make the events a success. May next year’s events be better still!
