On March 2, it was discovered that 119 applicants to HBS had inappropriately accessed a web site containing confidential admissions decision information. The students gained access by following a detailed set of hacking instructions made available in a Business Week Online chat room. Dean Kim B. Clark pledged to reject theses applicants, calling the prospective students’ actions “unethical at best-a serious breach of trust that cannot be countered by rationalization.” In response, the following question was posed to a group of current HBS students:
Do you agree with the action taken by HBS administration to reject the 119 applicants who hacked into the ApplyYourself HBS admissions
Number of responses:420
