There's No Slowing Down The A-Team

Since we all are well aware that our time together at HBS is coming to an end, I do not want to overload on melancholic memories or get weepy reminiscing our time in A107 (as I’m sure that will come later), but rather recap the past few months to show that The A-Team has absolutely no intention of “winding down” the school year.

OA has been out and about all across campus as well as the country over the course of the past several weeks:

o The women of A enjoyed a wonderful 3-day weekend in Vegas honoring the section’s bachelorettes, spearheaded by the party-planning crew of Jess Lutzker and Daphne Choi. Activities included an appearance by Ice Man’s long lost brother Brad, trips in the Celine Dion party bus, stops at several clubs including Rain at the Palms (for those Real World fanatics among us), 4th row seats at O (Cirque du Soleil performance at the Bellagio), and much shopping and a little sunning despite the colder than average weather.

o Another spectacular Fashion Show, organized by Neil Edwards and Daphne Choi. This year’s catwalk featured our very own Sean Coar, Daphne Choi and Kirstin Gollop strutting their stuff.

o A few notable OA events with the section men: Jatin’s bachelor party in Providence and Ryan Desmond Weekend II in New Orleans. I have tried to get details of these trips but alas, mum seems to be the word. Scandal!

o The HBS Show once again executive produced by our own Ruby Kam Woo – this time mocking the reality TV craze as well as our HBS experience. Broadway’s got nothin’ on Ruby.

o Delia Vallejo and Justin Connolly finishing the Boston Marathon – way to go! You put the rest of our lazy butts to shame. And props to Laurent Therivel and Chris Young for cheering them on and passing them oranges – now that’s what I call teamwork – straight outta LEAD.

o The Careina Williams Benefit for Navin held in the HBS Chapel. Featuring such hits as “So Lonely” by The Police, “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones and a special request by Navin himself for Otis Redding’s “Dock of the Bay.” As always Careina, you are too mah-velous for words.

o And finally, after a more serious Capstone session, the final Section Dinner at Vox (big thanks again to Jess Lutzker and Daphne Choi for organizing) was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Toasts by Laurent, slightly inebriated “Truth” games uncovering such information as who got a 3 in Social Enterprise, and late night “exposures” by Eric Fleiss at Vuk Djunic’s after-party made it a night to remember.

By the time this article runs the final blow-out bash at Ellery Palace will have also taken place (thanks to Laurent Therivel, Ken Grahame and Javier Ewing for ALL of the incredible parties over the two years). I predict that much kielbasa will have been grilled and consumed, all remaining alcohol and then some will have been taken off the “inventory list,” and The A-Team will have topped off a week of papers and exams with style.
